Divorce

Divorce. And no, I’m not talking about Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, but rather Nottingham’s hottest band who have just released synth-filled banger ‘Scratch Your Metal’. The quartet has also announced the release of EP ‘Heady Metal’ via Gravity/EMI records set to go live on the 17th of November.
Following the release of the single ‘Birds’ and a feature via BBC Radio 6, praises about the band have been rung out high and low. And not in a sycophantic way, but in an oozing alternative nonchalance, breathing out inhaled smoke, “have you heard of the band Divorce” way.
New single 'Scratch Your Metal' features harmoniously married dual vocals, far from the divorcing point, paired with refreshing pop undertones, combining deliciously to create what the vocalist Tiger Cohen-Towell has described as “probably the closest thing to a love song that has been written for Divorce”.
Cohen-Towell continues: “‘Scratch Your Metal’ means showing the most difficult and sometimes unbearable parts of yourself outwardly because the sound of something scratching against metal is the most unpleasant noise I can think of.” Think here of childhood dinner times and pained faces as cutlery scraped together.
Divorce without a doubt has a future destined for infinity and beyond, not only with the release of the EP in November, but also a full UK Tour this autumn and numerous supporting gigs lined up regimentally in the calendar - need I mention supporting the likes of 2023’s Paulo Nutini Willie J Healey. Divorce quite simply are the ones to watch this changing of the seasons.
