VALETTE STUDIO | Men’s Paris Fashion Week AW25

Valette Studio’s AW25 collection is a love letter to the blazer. Designer and namesake Pierre-François Valette presented a down to earth re-imagining of a late-70’s wardrobe, reminiscing on “David Bowie’s Berlin era.” A sharp, fog hued spectacle of precision.

This season we see a harkening back to the golden age of formal wear adorned by structured shoulders, fitted trousers among a conglomeration of acquiescent greys. Ash to tar, Vallette Studio’s collection showcased myriad tonal ranges from gunmetal to pearly-soot. Almost military-esque, the offerings speak into existence a dystopian future peppered by workwear in the proper sense, a uniform of structure. Weaving throughout the show were jovial pops of colour. Maroon appeared alongside a gorgeous sandy print reminiscent of a powdery weathered desert, where print work shone amongst the sea of smokey hues.

The entire collection was imagined in an evening mood. Natural prints contrasted occasional sparkles, the hard lines of business wear treading a boundary between clock-in and out of office. Oversized blazers became a staple whilst shimmering night-grey dresses and 'womenswear’ pieces could be seen sprinkled throughout. Slight nods to westernwear's incoming trendiness appeared by means of knee-high cowboy boots, and hints of leather apparel. A highlight of the collection was the trench coat, said to be a re-imagination of a classic evening dress. This piece was styled with a silver jeweled bag and the aforementioned heeled rancher boots, understated yet playful - it stole the show.

Arrays of technical wool, velvet, shearling, and lacquered cotton comprised the collection, utalising time-resistant materials whilst maintaining an air of elusiveness, imbued start to finish. The distinct ostracization of bright colourways paved pathways to showcase detailed tailoring, and careful craftsmanship. All in all, Valette Studio offered the chance to dive head first into a trendy professional couples’ autumnal closet: everyday staples converged with dreamy day-to-night garments, where we witnessed casual to spectacular seamlessly coexist.
